about

Dr. Justin Ternes, DPT

Justin is a human movement researcher, brother to four and friend to many.  Born and raised in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he found a passion for physical activity at a young age. Fueled by a family tree filled with medical professionals, his passion for health and wellness filtered into a keen interest in physical rehabilitation.

While attending the University of Arkansas, Justin was on track to enter medical school but was unexpectedly placed in an internship program at a local physical therapy clinic. This was a major turning point in his life, as he finally found the profession that best matched his interest. This discovery led Dr. Ternes to New Hampshire (greater Boston area) where he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Franklin Pierce University.

Since 2014, Justin has advanced his knowledge in a variety of PT specialties through clinical internships. He worked at Dartmouth Hospital in the NICU and Pediatric Neuro ICU, Washington Regional Medical center in Northwest Arkansas, and outpatient clinics in New Hampshire, Dallas, Texas, and San Diego, California.  Justin eventually fell in love with the active, healthy lifestyle of southern California and landed his first job in North San Diego County.

Golf Rehabilitation has become a passion and a specialty for Justin.  In 2018, he received his Titleist Performance Institute Level 1 Certification (TPI Certified).  His experience with TPI has propelled his knowledge in the world of return-to-golf therapy, allowing him to best treat the golfers of San Diego County.

Justin is actively involved in his local community and values creating new friendships wherever he goes. Always on the go, you can find Justin golfing, surfing, practicing yoga, playing pick up basketball or biking around town.

No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training.  It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.
